Couple small rainbows and this yellow bass

I took my kayak out on Caney Fork while a single generator was going. I got stuck in one small spot looking for gar and ended up having to book it to the boat ramp before the sun went down. I thought the evening was a complete loss, but caught this rainbow trout while waiting at the boat ramp for my wife to come pick me up. #catchking

CANEY FORK RECON TRIP💯🤘 Exploring a new section of the most beautiful river I've ever fished! The morning was cool, and a light fog hovered like a ghost just a couple feet above the cool, clear water. I made my way upstream to a deeper section that should be holding some fish. After a mile or so, I saw the first fish! A huge Longnose Gar, and then another. Then some Carp and Buffalo, and then some Drum and a catfish. THEN, I SAW THEM. MONSTER STRIPERS CAME ROCKETING THROUGH THE HOLE LIKE THEY OWNED THE PLACE. The bad news was that they saw me, too, so I got over to shore as quietly as possible. I started casting a 9 inch Rainbow Trout Glide Bait, and it got crushed immediately!!!💪 BUT IT WASN'T A STRIPER!😬🤣 I COULD TELL RIGHT AWAY THAT IT WAS NOT A STRIPER BUT A NOSY OLE LONGNOSE!!! Thankfully I was able to calmly release this guy after cutting my line and retrieving my GLIDE FROM HIS TOOTHY GRASP!🤣🤘 (The Gar and BUFF were already posted!)💯 Now I've certainly spooked the Stripers, but they were GIANTS, so I stayed and fished for several hours. Trying different things and exploring. I ended up catching my first Walleye in several years, which was AWESOME, and caught that BUFF on a jerk! (Thought it WAS a Striper- NOPE!🤣🤘 ALL-IN-ALL IT WAS A GREAT MORNING ON THE WATER. NOW ALL I SEE WHEN I CLOSE MY EYES ARE THOSE GIANT STRIPERS IN THE CANEY JUST WAITING FOR MY RETURN. HAHA FOR REAL!
