Quesnel River

Nice native Bow from today. Lots of Sockeye in the River. This guy was so feisty he ripped his lip and almost shook the hook out in his fight. Ran right into my net trying to escape my hand during release aswell lol. Sadly broke my bamboo rod, or more like the thing just broke. Randomly started splitting and pretty much broken now. Getting a new rod tomorrow. Wasn’t sure how long that one was gonna last anyways, it was 1950’s or 60’s era.

Few native ‘Bows on the dry yesterday. Took a Humpy fly about size 16 while sitting on a crystal clear shoal in about 5 feet of water. All impressive sport for their size, fighting above their weight class and jumping multiple times.
