This is the 17” smallmouth bass from the session with the 24” cutbow that I just posted. But gratuitously I felt like this fish deserved its own post. So I saved the classic straight-arm vertical hold shot for this post. Hard to beat the straight arm vertical when it comes to bass. Makes it look like a 22-incher 😂💪🏽🐟

I got out late in the afternoon shortly before sunset, and the wind was picking up. Thankfully I managed to rustle up one nice smallmouth from the depths!

My first time catching 2 fish in 1 cast. The big one was 600 grams and my biggest smallmouth ever. I was very surprised to see that I caught 2 fish in one cast on a jearcbait. I have caught over 20 smallmouth bass in the berg river in the past 2 weeks, but alot of them are small ones. The jearcbait I use is called the sensation jeark minnow SD3 and caught all of the bass on it.
