Bowfin

Fatty bowfin tried taking me in the weeds again. Of course a gutt hook as per bowfin habits but it swam away ready for action this time.

Tiny bowfin on the nightcrawler, 6lb fluoro. Panfishing slowed down with the salmon running back and forth, 4ft from the bank. I also watched a seagull make 10 passes on a dead pumpkinseed before picking it up lol

Went back to the spot I encountered some bowfin at yesterday and ran into a few hungry ones! I also landed a little brown bullhead. I think the warm weekend we had and the rain prior gave me one more chance to get some of these guys. The colder weather approaching hopefully means more pike and some salmon!

My first bowfin! ………. so in shock that we forgot to measure & weigh it ……… but it was heavier than I expected and was solid ………. awesome fish!
