Lake Champlain

Went back to the spot I encountered some bowfin at yesterday and ran into a few hungry ones! I also landed a little brown bullhead. I think the warm weekend we had and the rain prior gave me one more chance to get some of these guys. The colder weather approaching hopefully means more pike and some salmon!

Did plenty of pike and white perch fishing this weekend. Ran into quite a bit of fish but didn’t get anything too big. This pike was the highlight of the past few days and the white perch aren’t super photogenic. I also had some encounters with bowfin today, but none wanted to bite.

New PB smallmouth, really wanted to end the fall out by breaking it and it feels good!

Walked through some deep mud today in hopes of catching a bowfin, instead I landed a ton of brown bullhead and a New PB! This guy came in at 14.5 inches long! Before heading to the swamp, I fished the river for a bit and landed some smallmouth and fallfish. I hooked into a nice male Atlantic salmon as well which means there’s a few early ones running up the river. I’ll be heading out bright and early tomorrow to try and land one. I also got to watch weigh-ins for the bassmaster elite qualifiers today. These guys are catching some big bass! The biggest one I saw was a 6lb smallmouth.
