Fished for a few hours this morning before the Ohio state game and smashed them on some of my favorite lures. I ended up losing a dink and a giant on the jig too. If I caught the big one it would have gave me a decent bag. . . August has been one of my favorite months to fish for quite awhile and today was no different. Such an awesome morning on the water at Seneca. Caught my first smallmouth ever at Seneca (only the second one I’ve ever seen caught here) and quite a few largemouth. I’m probably in the overwhelming minority by saying this but August is one of my favorite months of the year to fish especially on seneca. Didn’t catch a lot of size today but had a ton of fun. Spent the majority of the day just junk fishing and put quite a few small ones in the boat this morning. Went back out this evening for about 2 hours and landed the biggest of the fish on the day. . Junk fished my way to a pretty good day on the water yesterday. Best 5 bass was pushing 9.5 pounds, caught my PB saugeye (5 pounds and 24.75 inches long), and a massive catfish enjoyed a jackhammer a little too much. . .
