Been tough for me out there but went 1/2 on a short stop on the river last night. Got this lovely freckled fella but unfortunately lost a huge Walleye. Hit a few minutes after this one and I didn't take it seriously cuz I just thought it was another small Pike, and didn't see it until it was a foot from the bank- only had the back hook of the Death Pause Minnow jerkbait in him, and sadly, shook off at the bank. Pretty cool though cuz it's a big 5.5" jerkbait. I'll be back for ya Walter!

Couple of ol Bassfish while river fishing. Glidebait has been working.

Des Plaines River session yesterday w/my buddy Tim today. He doesn't bump into Pike super often in his neck of the woods, so I took him to a productive spot hoping to get him on a fish. Was a serious grind, but in the end we got on 2. And got him his PB Pike! Mine was about same size, just doin the ol long arm 😂. I swear whenever I bring people out I struggle to catch fish. Never fails 😂. But mission accomplished at least getting him a PB, and hopefully we can break it soon too.

Got on a few today on a quick stop on the river. All of them ate a chartreuse tandem-bladed Spinnerbait with a white curly tail trailer, fished low and slow. Piketober 🐊 has been fun. The huge females come out in November, so I'll be shifting to mainly grinding with big lures & baits in spots I know which hold giants 🤞. Numbers are always less when I'm fishing for the big ones, but it definitely produces quality big fish. Also, Happy Halloween Fishbrain family 🤘🎃🧛

The Esox were still hunkered down after the rain last night, but I did manage to hang out with a couple ol Bassfish friendos in a quick 20 min sesh. 🎣 We also got some much needed rain. River is up about a foot, and the lakes, which are turning over and spotty with oxygen, should have received a nice dose of O² the past few days. With a few nights in the lower 40s and 30s ahead - I expect the Pike and Musky bite should be likely at its best of the season in the next few weeks. I'm still pretty new to this fishing thing overall, but from all I've learned, this is the time I expect a lot of really big Pike to be showing their toothy faces. 🐊. Hoping to get the kayak out this weekend and drop some big meats under a bobber and cast swimbaits and jerkbaits- or at the very least get on a hard wade. Definitely the time to be chasing the giants and go full send. Tight lines FishAngler Fam🐊🎣🍁🎃

A few really fat Pike on a tiny creek this morning. Was 45-50° and sunny, temp steadily rising, good breeze, and I was having a cup of coffee with leaves falling all around me. Couldn't think of a better way to spend the morning...

Lot of fun stalking Pike on the rivers the past two days. Ran into some Smallmouth and a giant slab Black Crappie as well. Best part is that the Smallies hit big Musky Bucktails! Absolutely love the Fall 🍃🍂🍁

Got out for a brief kayak session at dawn today before work. One decent Pike and a few tiny Smallmouth. Pike seem to slowly be heating up again as Fall approaches. They are also eating bigger baits again. Got this on a good sized 6" swimbait, burning it across huge tracks of water and then just slamming it to a pause. This guy chased it in and smoked it on the pause literally 1 foot from my kayak. Awesome eat! 🔥. Released healthy.
