A race against the light in the evening traffic after work to get down the cliffs. Success! Two bass went for my lures prior to this and hit the tail, avoiding hook up. Then this chunk delivered a nice surprise.

3x Bass officially landed, all on the Nikko Lunar lure. I found that after using my usual lures having seen the bass come in… no interest what so ever. Braved this new lure and instantly smashed! The fight in this 63cm was insane! I lost another good bass that ran me into weed and shallow ground. The 2 other bass were schoolies.

3x Bass today! Missed 2 others. 64cm the biggest, a really heavy, thick set fish. The 59cm was a really dark fish and equally fat! NW strong winds and some choppy big swell. To my surprise they were there!!

Another real dark bass… gave a good scrap this… a lot of head shaking. Took a while to go back but eventually swam off safe and sound.

Still early, and still some very strong Easterly winds. Followed by some chilly nights. Working out some new spots among those I’ve tried before. Early April bass is a good sign. Long may the sunshine for this summer.

What a beauty!! I knew as soon as the lure was plucked by the initial weighted run it made and how little control I had bringing it between the rough ground this was a big fish. 71cm of joy! Lucky to see it landed with a badly chaffed leader that snapped upon bringing up the beach.

I saw plenty of good sized bass but all were particularly choosy as to taking the lure. Alot of hours and hard graft for the ones i did. Was also facinated to see that ana conger had beached itself up the high tide mark. Helped it down to low tide mark. A good day all in all.

A real hard slog today with four hours casting the lure prior to catching this bad boy. Chuffed with this sized fish in April 👌🏼
