Some refer to river chubs and creek chubs as nuisance fish as they’re a bycatch when you’re targeting other species. Chubs would consume both nightcrawlers and corn. One way to eliminate them when fishing for carp is to use boilies instead.

Creek chubs are quite common across rivers and ponds in Ontario. They usually build nests using pebbles for spawning.
