SO MANY HOURS…SO LITTLE FISH! - Dad and I were back at it at Tin Can Bay. The fish forecast wasn’t great after all the rain and flooding we had, but we both had the itch and decided a day out on the boat was better than sitting at home. First cast for me I already had a bite and reeled in a good old faithful Moses Perch. Shortly after dad started his ‘hate’ relationship with the Pufferfish (who would continue to bite of his line many more times during the day…we stopped counting after the 6th time)… But then…Dad reeled in a lovely little Sweet Lip and THEN….. Dad had the biggest line smack and his reel was screeching and the line took off. He was very pessimistic about reeling in whatever was on the line. We contemplated a turtle, pufferfish or even shark hahahaha…he only had on a 6lb leader so the odds weren’t great. But with some skill dad managed to tire out the ‘beast’…and brought on board a beautiful 35cm Sweet Lip. ~See Video~ Happy days! I reeled in a beautiful little Rock Cod…always love catching these. They are just so beautiful. Then the day went quiet…sadness for 3 hours which felt like 8…. Moved spots a few times and ended up back at the original location. Hit a little patch of happiness there as I caught 5 fish in 15min. Yipeeeee… A couple of Moses Perch, some small Bream and a lovely 26cm legal Bream! Not gonna lie, I’ve missed catching Breambos….. We called it quits before lunch as the biting wasn’t biting anymore 😫 But always happy times being on the boat with dad! Tight Lines my friends 🐟💪🏻

SWEET LIPS & PUFFERFISH… - Early start to hit the water with my dad today! Stunner morning although a bit chilly. Headed across the bay to one of our favourite spots! Calm and peaceful with plenty of sea turtles about. Straight off the bat Dad caught a Black Bream shortly followed by me with a small Sweet Lip….from there on I pulled out another 4 Sweet Lip and a Moses Perch. Dad finally managed a beautiful big Sweet Lip coming in at 32cm! We managed to almost get stuck on a sandbank and dad had to get out to push 😂 We had a couple more good hits but most of those came in the form of huge Puffer Fish. So many hooks and sinkers lost to those guys today 😫 We Moved spots and I finally finally got myself a small Bream and dad had one on the line as well. Happy doubles!!!! After that the fish pretty much stopped biting (except for the puffers and nibblers). But all round another great day on the boat with dad! Tight Lines my friends 🐟💪🏻

FATHER DAUGHTER FISHING… ⤵️ What a contrast a day makes…overcast and windier this morning…super choppy heading over to our first spot across the Bay. Not gonna lie…I had some vommie moments!! But the fishing…was top notch! Again so many species we didn’t know what to do with ourselves. Hit a Bream pocket at the mangroves with a nice 29cm to take home. So our catches included: - Bream (in abundance) - Rock Cod - Diamond Fish (Butter Bream) - Moses Perch - Spangled Emperor (juvenile) - Tarwhine - Grunter (grunt grunt) - Banded Trumpeter - (Not so) Happy Moments (Rabbit/Spine Fish) Don’t Touch! … Got a nice double up with dad as well with some Breambos. Finishing another great QLD trip with a good fishing session is always so so good! Thanks dad for being my fishing buddy!! Tight Lines my friends 🐟💪🏻

FIRST EVER SNAPPER?..or is it? ⤵️ Back up in QLD - dad and I had an early session on the water. High tide almost ready to go out. No breeze and you just knew it was gonna be a hot day! Sunrise was looming and we started off in the Harbour. First cast I got myself a Breambo. First cast for dad and he got himself a Pike. Steady throughout the day and we covered so so so many species - everything from: - Bream - Pike - Diamond Fish (Butter Bream) - Moses Perch - Sweet Lip - Tarwhine - Trevally (we have to look up which sort of Trevally it was yet) …but the best CATCH OF THE DAY was my first ever - Snapper…well I looked it up it’s actually a Silver sea bream but it’s commonly called a Pink Snapper and some other choice names…nevertheless it’s one of my firsts and one of my favourite catches so far. It hit my line so hard the boat almost capsized. Great fight and super cool fish. Another great outing overall. Tight Lines my friends 🐟💪🏻

VARIETY IS THE SPICE OF LIFE! Day Two and it started much better than yesterday. Even though the horizon looked super overcast and a storm was brewing…it didn’t deter our fishing fever! ☺️ Dad was on fire right from the start with some nice solid Bream and a Moses Perch! I followed soon after with a mudcrab and some smaller Bream…as the morning wore on we cruised from spot to spot and suddenly the catches and species were racking up! Yellowfin Bream, beautiful silver coloured Bream and some smashing Black coloured Bream were to be had, along with plenty more Moses Perch, a Banded Trumpeter, a Grunter and a beautiful little Sweet Lip!…then the sky opened up and we sadly called it a day at 11.30am. Drenched but happy back at the boat ramp we packed up and headed home! ❤️ Excellent outing with some beautiful catches. 🐟 I hope Everyone is having an amazing week and ready for a smashing weekend! ☺️ Tight Lines my Friends! Stay safe ❤️
