Nibblers, Snags and other Disappointments 😫 Well what a stark contrast to yesterdays fishing! We still had a stunning sunrise but super blowy heading out. We headed back to our first spot from yesterday but the trawler motor has a mind of its own. The tide was strong and we kept getting put out of position. When we finally did manage to get our lines in, the nibblers were all over our bait no sooner had it touched the water. Managed a few smallies so at least we beat the skunk. But even moving on to several other spots proved fruitless. I did fish out a legal Bream and a beautiful Tarwhine - both went back in the water. Dad has some Good luck catching himself an over 30cm Breambo around the Boat Harbour pontoons. At 10am we decided to call it quits! The highlight was of course spending time with dad and the beautiful Sea Turtle which hung out next to the boat within arms reach for a while…and more dolphins along the way! Not every day is good fishing but plenty of other positives can be had! Tight Lines my friends 🐟💪🏻

QLD Trip Fishing Day 2 Dad and I were at it again! Well what a contrast today was to yesterday!!! Smooth morning launching the boat. Stunning calm water…no wind. The Sea Turtles and Eagles were at it again along with a gazillion Pelicans and other birds. We headed off to a drain to fish for Flathead at low tide - with soft plastics. Not my favourite thing to do but I know I have to challenge myself. As we get to the entry, I spot something along the sand bank at distance…squinting my eye and pretending I don’t have bad eyesight I vaguely make out a dog shape. Well it turns out it’s a dingo scavenging for food along the waters edge. Not something you see every day. Anyway we get casting and about 5 min in dad hooks something - thinking it’s a stick fish….BUT…he no fuss pulled in the most unique craziest fish I have ever seen. We didn’t know what it was…and it would take us another hour after we got home to figure it out. Well drum roll please…we present a ‘Yellowfin Tripod Fish’. I mean wowsers…super cool looking. Another 5 min later I am half heartedly jigging my soft plastic around when I feel some weight on my line. Talk about super subtle. Pulling it up I managed a baby Flattie to my surprise. Well I was a little chuffed and I got him on a soft plastic too! A few more smaller Bream and a few locations later we were chugging back past the Boat Harbour when all of a sudden out of the corner of my eye I spot a white fin coming out of the water…one of the beautiful long term residence of Tin Can Bay decided do bless us with its presence…a dolphin. Tin Can Bay is quite famous for its daily dolphin feeding. Mind you this one must have still been hungry as it looked like it was begging us for more fish. Cheeky bugger. It is however prohibited to feed them. To say I was super happy is probably an understatement and I continued my elation straight into catching a nice pan sized Flattie (on chicken this time). Moving on…Still on cloud nine, I kinda lost all sense of how to fish and I was more of a Rod holder than anything else. Meanwhile dad was on fire - he pulled out another stunner - a solid 32cm Black Bream! It was one of the best looking Bream I have ever seen. They are so fat at the moment and healthy. Not long after he also pulled out a Summer Whiting at 29cm (no pic as my battery on phone went flat). The sun was getting hectic and we decided to call it quits at about 1pm. Amazing Day! That wraps up another daddy daughter fishing trip! Feeling blessed!! Tight Lines my Friends! Stay safe ☺️

FINALLY FISHING WITH MY DADDY AGAIN! Well I’m back in QLD and back on the boat with dad! Latest stop…fishing at Tin Can Bay! I’m not gonna lie…I had a bit of a slow day with only a few baby Bream and some Diamond Fish (Butter Bream) saying hello! Dad on the other hand scored some nice Bream at 29cm and an absolutely stunning and unexpected Trevally!!! Beautiful fish. ❤️🐟 The day was hot and humid and the wind uncaring…but in the end it was nice to be out with dad again. Tomorrow is another session so fingers crossed it’ll be better😝 Tight Lines my Friends! Stay safe ❤️
