Caught a new species today! In total, caught a grey trigger, 3 fluke, and one seabass. First day of the week was a nice success. Got to the beach for sunrise and to get a parking spot, and walked down to the inlet fishing. No action from the surf, but first cast in the inlet, I caught a nice 16" fluke on a 4" white zoom fluke. I didnt get a pic because he broke off my line and dropped in the rocks, and it took a minute to get him out. I switched to the squid because reports have been saying bait is doing better than bucktails. Sure enough, got another smaller fluke, and again dropped him in the rocks before rescuing a second fish. I missed a few bites close to the rocks before I landed this nice trigger. I think it was rather lucky, because the spear fisherman came through not 10 minutes after I landed him. Should be good eating. I caught 1 more short fluke before low tide, where I left and returned for the incoming tide. It was very slow around 1, and one of the only bites resulted in the small seabass. I am not going shark fishing tonight just because I woke up at 4 to drive down today, and the yellow flags were up. Hopefully the rest of the week is just as good, if not better.

Caught a nice bluefish from the inlet today. Waves are insane in the ocean, definitely 6+. The beaches have mostly red and some yellow flags. The inlet isn't as bad but the current is definitely ripping. I also caught some larger sea bass than yesterday. I had a really nice fish on the squid but he shook the hook. I think he mightve been a bluefish or a keeper sea bass if I was able to land it, since it was the only fish on my light setup that was pulling drag. Might head back a bit later in the evening, but if this is my last fishing session down here, I am very content.

Caught a ton of baby black sea bass in the inlet today. They were biting every case on my hi low squid rig. Also tossed some squid out into the middle channel and landed one little short. Had a few more bites but didn't land more. This is honestly the best ive ever done in this inlet. I always get skunked, but not today. #CatchKing
