I caught a handful of bluegill and a little bass, and then this little guy bit my spinner with a grub! As I was walking my kayak out of the water, an old couple sitting on a bench was looking at me and the lady said something to me that I didn't understand. It wasn't English, so I asked her what language, and she said Russian. Her English wasn't great, but she pointed at me and said "devushka" then "na" then she pointed at my kayak, "lodke." And I repeated it, wondering at the meaning and then she said "girl on boat." And I was like "devushka na lodke!" Look at me, learning Russian on the fly.
