***NEW SPECIES/PB ALERT*** (1.5K Followers + College Graduation Special) 🌙 🌘 #catch2026 #catch26 First catch of 2026 and so far end of spring (besides well that May long weekend Niagara smallie that was accidentally caught). First decent fish on the G-Loomis medium-light (6ft) and G-loomis medium-light + Piscifun Viper X 3000 Reel combo from 2024 (besides the Rice Lake largie from last year), and even better, it’s a brookie (Ontario’s only native trout besides the laker cousin). I am stoked and speechless. I apologies for the photo quality but it was past sunset at the time so low light affects photo quality plus fishing was a last minute decision. After a very tough spring and the only thing to land so far being a tank Niagara River smallie on a spoon (out of season which I will not post as a catch) while fishing for trout and walleye, tough week schedule and condition wise. Lost one last week, yet, back again, vengeance has yet again been earned and last minute too. Wild way to start June and end spring season (potentially). 10incher Brook trout on a Size 3 silver BlueFox spinner. For all the showers and mosquitoes plus today’s humidity, for 45 minutes, surprisingly paid off for a near night/dusk fishing. I’ll be graduating this year so this fish is a great one to conclude college year. Hoping summer and fall are fire this year. Otherwise spring had its surprises and sometimes you never know what you’ll land. Slow spring but became a very big surprise. Tagging @Fishing_Urban_Ontario for this one.

Crazy story about this guy. I was fishing my local harbour after work today on a mission to find the infamous whitby harbour pike. Metal leaders, spoons, spinner baits, you name it all stocked up before driving to the spot. I was switching between bottom fishing and using lures. I figured it Doesn't hurt to catch a cat for fun, while trying to get a pike to bite. I'm trying different retrieves, fast slow, letting it hit bottom, stop and go. I cast out let it hit bottom, steady retrieve and boom a little steelhead.(Or Atlantic still not sure) Honestly not the biggest but definitely the most unexpected 😁
