Finally, I got a chance to head out and fish today. After a few days off settling into my new apartment, I headed to the mountains to this awesome little stream. I started off throwing a hopper dropper and I ended up just snipping off the nymph. The fish were only interested in the dry, which made today much easier. While there were no large hatches, it looked like there were a bunch of different bugs out on the water today. Midges, 18 tricos, 16 bwo, 8 yellow sally, and some white fuzzy caterpillars. I stopped for lunch and watched one plop into the water and ride downstream, and sure enough, it got smacked. The bears were also today. I saw two, luckily both were from inside of my car. I think the one got hit, since there was a car pulled over, and it was laying right on the shoulder, but it still had its head up. Tomorrow's weather is looking excellent for some trout fishing, so I might try and head to one of the larger rivers to try and get my first brown or rainbow in VT.
