Brook trout

My first hardwater session of the season! A very successful outing with my friend Lukas and I both limiting out at 5 trout. Caught on my new Berkley Cherrywood Ice rod/reel. Yellow glow jig tipped with Krill or worms both did the trick. Fishing about 6 feet of water and could see all the Brookies below the ice.

14 of these beautiful creatures to the net this morning. This is my favorite time of year for fly fishing here in Maine! Temperature goes down and almost everyone else stops fishing. lol

Got into a few little trout this afternoon on Marquart. 2 Brookies and a Bow to make it a multi-species day. Brookies had beautiful coloration, which made up for what they lacked in size. Casting a small chironomid about 6 inches under an indicator in the shallows was productive for me. Happy to be out catching, it’d been too long without any catches on the fly. Tight lines fam!!
