Nice fish

Down at Ballina today, caught these 3 fish, 1st whiting 36cm, 2nd whiting 29cm, and the bream was 22cm. Good fun on my new 2-4kg light action 4ft rod. All released back into the ocean to grow into real big ones!

Was camping on Bribie island, surf side all week, didn't catch much apart from this little 20-25cm whiting. What was funny about this fish is that it was in a freshwater lagoon on the beach, it was completely freshwater and there were even thousands of frog tadpoles (also indicating that the lake was fresh). If anyone knows (seahunt sunshinecoast) how the whiting survived in the freshwater tea-tree lake please tell me how. And also, the map of this lake on the fish angler is outdated, the lake isn't connected to the ocean anymore so I know how it got in there, just don't know how it survived in the freshwater.

BEACH FISHING WITH DAD… ⤵️ We finally have some Sunny days (forgot what the sun looked like)… Dad and I jumped at the chance to have a fish so we decided to head to Rainbow Beach for some beach fishing. I hadn’t done much beach fishing previously so was excited to get stuck into it. Took some getting used to as it’s quite different to estuary fishing. Can’t really go by feel much as the waves get in the way (the waves were small but noticeable). Stunning morning. No one by the water. Picked a spot and got straight into it. Dads first cast scored a Breambo - we thought we’ll that’s a promising start. Plenty of interest for the bait. Not long after I got a nice little Whiting followed by another. A Tailor decided it wanted in on the action and two small Breambos for me. Dads action fizzled out unfortunately and a short while in it felt like we were just feeding the Puffer Fish. Headed over to the boat ramp and has a few casts there. Dad finally got himself another Bream but nothing gif me. All in all it was amazing to try some this different and hang out with dad again.
