I caught an absolute tank today on the latest lure that I made from scratch - a flat-sided-square-lip bluegill crank bait. I'm feeling really proud, but also I learned a lesson. A big fish like this is gonna shake it's head when you lip it. I ended up having to use my pliers to yank a treble hook out of my hand today. Haha.

Made my first whopper-plopper style bait and painted it up in a fun scheme. I couldn't believe it when this guy whacked it this morning while I was basically just testing the action! It looks and works beautifully. This lure is going to get mailed to a good friend of mine up in Vermont where hopefully he will slam a few chain-pickerel with it. I've got a second one in the works for myself though. What a feeling! Got a nice TopWater fish on my first TopWater lure. Heck yeah.

This was super exciting for me! Biggest pond fish I've ever landed!!! Our pond has these big ol carp in it that swim around the edges like submarines. I've been wanting to land one for over a year now. Yesterday I finally snagged one. He fought harder than almost anything I've ever caught - it took about 5 minutes to get him in. I made sure to get a good revive on him and let him swim off strong after the pictures. What a cool experience. (also - he smelled god-aweful!)

Got a really healthy bad on azman paddle tail tonight after work. Second cast! After that, all that was biting was the gnats.

I caught another bass on the clownfish lure that I made a while back!! That sure feels good. Also, found a cool little turtle by the pond. My wife and dogs were interested to check out this beautiful little guy. It was a good day!

I was fishing for bluegill with the old beetlespin. Got the target! And then a bonus bass to who decided to chomp on the beetlespin. Not bad.

This little dude put up a respectable fight! And I got him on one of the first lures I ever made. It feels good to know it still does the job haha.he swam off in a hurry after I let go. Have a good one y'all!
