Recent Catches At Burnt Meadow Brook

Beautiful example of an NJ brook trout. Started off the day streamer fishing for browns in a different stream. Had one nice brown aggressively follow it 4 times, but I never stuck him. Switched up streams for brookies, and I thought I was gonna get skunked. The water was barely a trickle, and most of the riverbed was dry. There was only one pool that was deep enough to hold fish, and sure enough, they were hungry. Caught 3 brookies, 3 creek chub, and a little bluegill out of the same puddle. This is a good sign, as the oxygen levels are probably low, so it's good to see live, healthy fish

Caught this nice 9 inch brook trout out of burnt meadow creek on a #6 brown wooly bugger. Started throwing a small size 18 or 20 black parachute, but it was too windy. Then put on an parachute midge with a tungsten walts worm underneath, with no luck. Then i tried a neon green pheasants tail, and still saw nothing. I got to the biggest pool of the day, and although I didn't have any smaller streamers, I knew I had to tie one on. Sure enough, that giant took it. It was the only one I saw all day, but im fine with that.
