Pere Marquette River

Solid morning. Lost 6 steelhead landed one. My buddy got another beautiful brown on the swing with his Spey rod.

Great evening and morning fishing for steelhead and browns. Consistent action. Love spring steelhead fishing.

Fished a few weeks ago for fresh king salmon on the Pere Marquette river. Fresh fish all over. Great eats on pink eggs and brown stone flies. Hooked tons of fish. Broke an 8wt 9ft Orvis Helios trying to slow down a fresh male making a fast dash downstream. Popped a decent brown to make it a perfect day fishing.

Went up to the Pere Marquette with 3 buddies for some spring steelhead fishing. Lots of fish. Fished the upper river in the late afternoon and into the evening and the fish were all over the beds and in the holes below. Hooked fish nonstop. Hitting chartreuse eggs and copper wooly buggers. The following day fished the mid river (McDougal to Sulak) centerpinning and went 1-4. Fun but the river was high and tue fish were spread out. Popped some big brown sand rainbows to boot!

Fished the Pere Marquette River today around Baldwin. Popped 4 Steelies. All winter fish full of color. Fish were all settled in the dark water below the beds. Deeper runs and deeper water bends. Used my 10 foot 7wt and had a ball while freezing my butt off.
