A couple of post-work Friday bass to get the weekend started. Tight lines FA friends. 🤘

On Friday I was slamming them on crank baits and top water. Today was a bluebird sky so I went to a Wacky and coaxed them out from under the Lily pads. Throw a few feet into the pads and then slowly drag it to the edge and let it drop. Bam! Go with the smallest pound test you can stand. You will lose more fish in the thick pads, but it allows the worm to flutter more as it sinks, triggering more strikes. Tight lines! 👊

Always try to pull a mess of gills once or twice a spring. Tons of fun.

It’s officially a new season for me and the fish are finally on the move! Had an epic spring outing on Bishop today, including this 5+ tank that hit my crank bait like a freight train. Let’s go! 👊

Lifted some big boys today crankin’ a KVD Square Bill over the drop-offs. Fall bassin’ at its best! 🍂🍁 Don’t forget to mix your retrieve. Slow. Fast. Slow. And, always pause. Most strikes come on the pause because the bait will suspend or slowly rise. Hard for them to resist. Tight lines! 👊

When a pattern works, stick with it! All were caught crankin’ a KVD square bill about 30-feet off shore. The key to drawing strikes was to pause it directly over a steep drop-off I found… which plummeted from around 6 to 20 feet. They were stacked in there waiting to slam anything that swam over their heads. 👊

Dropped another random pin on the map and wound up at Bishop Lake today. Never fished it before. Took a couple of hours of searching but I found them on the wind-blown side. They were stacked along a steep drop off 15 yards from shore and slamming baitfish hiding in the dying lily pads. I tied on a KVD square bill crank bait and made casts parallel to the shore along the front of the pads. This drag-puller slammed it on the pause. They always do! Thought he was much smaller, but when I got him next to the yak he took one look at me and ran hard. Great fight! Weighed in at 5.5lbs. 👊
