Southampton Water

A feisty little fish caught on an IMA Chappy close to shore. After a bit of a rest he swam off safely.

A tiny bass, so small I wasn't certain it was on.

Just a schoolie, but very welcome. Caught on a Hound Glide 125 that I lost on the very next cast. I was so keen to get it back out in case there were more and didn't check my knots. My leader knot failed and the lure soared off to the horizon. At least the knot didn't fail earlier and leave the lure in the fish. The fish went back fine and I'm buying a replacement. A rookie mistake.

A welcome catch on a falling tide, difficult casting because of a cross wind and not a great fight only waking up when he was in 6" of water. He went straight back after his photo.

A nice Bass, not huge, but ok. Using a Savage Gear Gravity Stick paddle tail in white with a 3g belly weight. Caught at dusk, retrieve slowly along the bottom.

So can I claim this as my first catch of the season? An oyster grabbed my lure clip and wouldn't let go while drifting a Do Live stick in the current 😂
