26-inch Bowfin slammed my Hula Popper on our way back to camp that night. Fought like an SOB, right up until we tossed it back in the water. Took both of us six tries to get it in the boat, with my buddy finally getting the lucky scoop on it while I tried to keep my rod from snapping. Oddly enough, caught it off the same deadfall I caught a smaller bowfin two years ago, almost exactly to the day … wonder if it’s the same one 🤔 #catch22

Check out the black marks all over this bass. I've seen a lot of fish that had some but not near as many as this.
