Another good day on the water. Got on an early morning topwater bite and caught around 8 pounds before 7:30 this morning. The bite quickly died out once that sun got up and the lake slicked off. It was a struggle the rest of the day as there was basically zero wind and high sun. My last bite was around 10:15 to push me closer to that 9.5 pound mark and I fished until around 2 trying to break 10 pounds for the second straight day and it just wasn’t happening. If you were to tell me I’d catch 20 pounds in 2 days by myself fishing a lot of water that I normally don’t fish and do it fishing a lot of new stuff, I would be excited about that! . . I had an awesome morning on the water. Really tried to force a topwater bite this morning that wasn’t happening. After giving that up I was able to get on a pretty decent pattern that I was able to run most of the morning and ended up catching a decent bag. Jumped into a derb at Seneca today and came up just one bite short of cracking into the top 3. Caught a lot of fish today just didn’t have the size we needed. . . I also pre-fished if ya want to call it that for about 2 hours on Saturday and caught a decent one that would have definitely put us in the top 3 today. Got a ton of bites this morning just really struggled to put fish in the boat. Seemed like fish were short striking quite a bit. Ended up landing 4 total fish but lost 3 at the boat and 2 others. Foggy morning on the lake really put a damper on my plans to run and gun.
