If you look at the pictures you would think I had a pretty good day on the water. But if every fish I had hooked makes its way in the boat I catch at minimum 16-17 pounds on the day for my best 5. Just couldn’t keep them pinned. Nonetheless it was still a fun day. I learned a lot last weekend on the water and made key adjustments that could have led to an absolutely incredible day. . . Didn’t fish very long this morning at all because of the heat. Managed to catch one small bass, 2 small saugeye, and a pretty nice crappie. Was shocked at the crappie and the saugeye eating a @berkleyfishing Flux Gill on the flipping stick. Water temps at Seneca was around 90 degrees which is the first time I can ever remember seeing that high! . . Another good day on the water. Got on an early morning topwater bite and caught around 8 pounds before 7:30 this morning. The bite quickly died out once that sun got up and the lake slicked off. It was a struggle the rest of the day as there was basically zero wind and high sun. My last bite was around 10:15 to push me closer to that 9.5 pound mark and I fished until around 2 trying to break 10 pounds for the second straight day and it just wasn’t happening. If you were to tell me I’d catch 20 pounds in 2 days by myself fishing a lot of water that I normally don’t fish and do it fishing a lot of new stuff, I would be excited about that! . . Jumped into a derb at Seneca today and came up just one bite short of cracking into the top 3. Caught a lot of fish today just didn’t have the size we needed. . . I also pre-fished if ya want to call it that for about 2 hours on Saturday and caught a decent one that would have definitely put us in the top 3 today.
