Finally caught a striper this year! Went to this spot back on the beginning of June, and didn't catch anything, because it was at the peak of the 2nd highest water level of the year. After a very difficult "hike"(bushwacking through spider webs and thorns while sliding down a mountainside), I was rewarded with this 22" bass and a beautiful stocky. Both of these fish came early in the day, before I even got to the dam. I think the heat in the middle of the day turned the trout and stripers off, because once I reached the dam by 11, nothing was working. I literally tied on every single lure I had and only a couple little smallmouth came out from the dam. I was able to catch some bluegill, and this was the only thing that really fired up the bass. I would toss a bluegill out into the wash, and the stripers would swarm trying to eat them. Unfortunately, the bluegill were rather big for the bass, and I wasn't able to get a small enough one that would be easy to swallow. There were definitely a fish or two I saw that was well over 30". Also saw 2 really large carp, maybe 15+ lbs, but I didn't have any bait. This place is extremely difficult to get to, but if the bite is on, it's definitely worth it.

Look at the paddle on that bronzeback!!! He came in hot on that 6th sense flatside, missed his first strike and just sorta sat there like he couldn't believe he wasn't chewing on a bluegill. Pitched it back out a few feet behind him and instasmash!!! Quick release and a pic to make him famous!!!

A dink a day keeps Pepe` away! Give the little guy credit, he smashed the a rig hard enough to put a 90° bend in one of the arms!!
