Headed out to the canals today in hope of catching some exotics or florida natives. I succeeded, catching 2 nice mayan cichlid. I also missed a total of 3 fish, one peacock, one largemouth, and another fish i didnt see. Both bass swiped, missed by jerkbait, and got spooked. There was also a florida gar that looked at my bait, but quickly turned away. All of these fish came on the sp minnow. It was a good session for only 3 hours before heading back. Had a great trip to Miami. 14 species and weatherfinally above freezing, hopefully I can make it back down here soon. Heading back tonight, and I plan on taking full advantage of the 70 degree weather back in NJ.

Absolutely destroyed my worm to the point where I couldn't use it anymore. These Broward County lakes are vicious.
