3rd cast of the day got this little guy

#catch2025 Happy Bass Opener Everyone! Just tested my G-Loomis one piece 6foot rod in a while (and one that didn’t caught fish at all) and finally caught my first fish on the rod (and the new spin tail jig lure I tried, which was brought from Amazon 2 weeks ago). Slow day honestly with so many weeds below (despite the open water and choppy waters helping) and hard to jig for crappie (which I did catch two rock bass as first catches on the G-Loomis rod), which I decided to go for retrieving the new lure and, successful. Safely released after photos. This dink largie (possibly a quarter pounder with cheese, less or maybe slightly more) surprisingly put up a decent fight on the rod and thought it was nothing but weeds. Cute catch overall and not really that big but a fish is a fish, let alone, a bass. Will go for the bigger ones soon and maybe hopefully a pike, walleye or even a smallie next. Overall a good day on the water and great weather too with the park being peaceful and not busy.
