I fished through this mornings thunderstorms. While the thought of dying to lighting was exhilarating. I did not get a single hookup. I tell myself I am lucky for the opportunity to fish and not to catch a fish. I have put hundreds of hours over the years learning to fish salmon. This is the first year I've truly figured it out. I literally even took a course about ontario tribs and our trout and salmon fishing in highschool It is a very controversial run and I am sure we all know reasons why. But I will also drop a truth bomb. People get salmom fever staring at big fish in shallow water and convince themselves of things that are not true to justify their catch to others. 90% of the fish coming out the tribs and not the lake are not legit. You are not smashing chinook in the tribs on worms you can not convince me otherwise and ifykyk cause I know lol. Even half the guys running $1000 centerpin bead rigs in the tribs are flossing them. There is no sport in catching a fish that big in water you can literally stand in. They can barley even fight you. This is of course my opinion and I am not saying all fish coming out of the tribs are not legit. But trust me i know the truth and leather boot fish out of 2 foot of water is nothing compared to a chromer out of the lake that actually demolishes the bait and is not flossed or snagged lol.

The skein bite was crazy today. I lost 3 and landed 1. I hope to get 1 more female before the end of season.

Caught both on my fav spoon with a steel leader. Both gave pretty good fights and had good releases. One of my better bass and the pike was fun. Can't ask for more

Male smashed my eggs just like the female. I don't think ill get a bigger one than the female. Sorry for the crop not looking for extra company

Meats going to the neighbours to be put on the smoker, very chrome good looking female imo. Catching these almost ruins other fishing for you. This female destroyed me I couldn't be more grateful. This is a fish of a lifetime for me I don't think ill get one bigger. I didn't weigh it but the pictures speak for themselves. Massive chromer gave me an amazing fight
