Spotted seatrout

Mediocre day of trout, Jack's, ladies, grouper, and lizardfish. Got to the causeway at sunrise to find a boatload of Greenbacks but little predators. Nabbed the 3 trout from 13-16 on a 1/4 jighead and a pink 4 inch paddletail. The ladyfish pictured is my New PB. Ridiculous... coming in at 20.25 inches. Mini freaking Tarpon. What a day on the water with Captain and the crew! We met up at the Racetrack, stoked for our fishing adventure, and then... boom... we're told the locks are closed. I'm lacing up my kicks about to hit the boat launch, and in the chaos, I have not realize I've left one shoe on the bumper. We're peelin' outta there, and I'm thinkin' nothin' of it till I glance in the rearview and spot somethin' weird. Reach for my other shoe, and it's gone! That's when it hits me – my shoe's back there on the road, hitchin' a ride without me. Thank goodness I've got a pair of trusty cowboy boots stashed in the vehicle for backup. We're off to the next launch, and I'm thinkin', "Lake B's gonna get the best of me today." But nope! I've beefed up my line strength after last time's cork-loss drama, and today's catch is on fire! First keeper's a beaut – 27 inches of redfish goodness. Then, another red joins the party. We're shootin' the breeze about flounder season closin' down, and universe says, "Hold my beer." Two flounders, back to back! We capped off the trip with a couple drums and a few trout, even though we were scrapin' the barrel for bait and had to get creative with straight plastics. Let's just say, after that, straight plastics weren't so straight anymore – they were gettin' bitten! All in all, it was a slammin' day on Lake B. Now my feet are singin' their own blues, and I'm already itchin' for tomorrow's escapade. Guess I'll be restin' 'em up and maybe wearin' those cowboy boots for more than just emergency footwear! 🤠🎣
