My son pulled this little ditch pickle from one of our most used ponds. I told him to used the weighted hooks and creature baits, take it slow and work it down the channel that feeds in. He cast in 2 times and pulled up this 2- 1/2 lbs largey. This was in about 2 ft. of water with a watermelon rage creature. Keeping it a little slow as the water is cooling off kept it in front of their faces longer. This pond almost always turns out. While i will admit the fish in this little pond are fairly predictable they also can tend to be very finnicky when it rains or when its very sunny...they get really shy. Great catch by my son!

Clearly nothing bigger than a pound. However i was only able to be at the pond for about 30 minutes. First cast and pulled up the first one. Used a ned rig jig head with a couple of different soft plastic creature baits. The soft plastics have been the deal for me this summer for sure. All these guys were sithin 5 ft of the shore line. Was going slow retrieve and jerking around a bit, hits were actually pretty aggressive. Weve had so much rain lately that the cool water sinking deep was forcing all the largemouth up and out and the warm water makes them aggressive. So they were chasing and hitting when my bait wasmt in the water more than about 1 minute. The water was slightly cooler than it has been at about 78° but not quite cool enough yet to cause the fish to begin the fall transition movement. Still havent pulled the Slaunch Donkey that I KNOW is in these ponds. I know something bigger is lurking. Ive caught over 3lbs. out fo these 2 ponds so i know there is more here. Anyways...dink fest, but a fun dink fest!

Got this dude and a good group of his friends. Littler guy, maybe 1.5 lbs but i caught half a dozen in an hour. Some bigger, most the same size, around 1.5-2 lbs. Great little pond on college campus. Lots of shade and cover at waters edge and a nice little drop off. about 20' off the bank from approx. 2-3 ft to about 4 ft. Caught half on a texas rig Rage Craw, and the other half on minnow jerk bate. Tried a ned rig at the drop off and something bit and broke the hook off the ned rig. BIG whatever it was. Hot weather, approx 95 deg and alot of humidity, but these pond bass seem to like to go out to the drop off. Pond had a fountain but oddly i got no love around the fountain at all, the drop off was the hang out!
