Mill Pond

Slow day and murky water. Got a couple bluegill, pickerel (damn toothy bastards), but worth it to get this guy! Not a big one, but always fun to catch a new species. I may have set the hook a little excitedly... He flew out of and across the water about 10 feet. Oops... 😂

Met a cool dude who makes custom baits at a new spot today. He handed me a few watermelon worms, I wacky rigged one, and it was on! Not pictured were the two others (all about 1-1.5 lbs) on the same worms. Great action, good color, not real slimy with a still decent salt content to flutter on those slow drops. After losing two lures (one to a tree, one to a pissed off Larry), I went vengeful Ahab style and got this one off a drop shot between two sets of pads. Put up a fight, but I finally landed him. #Catch22

I love everything bout fishing. Checking out a new spot and it amazes me how you can kill it with certain approach, go somewhere else and have to try something completely different.
