State Lake

I still can’t get over how clear this water was, that’s probably why they were loving the black and blue wacky worm though. Fifth and final fish of the day. My dad beat me in numbers today (by one) 5-6, but I had the bigger dinks caught on my ultra light, which was a lot of fun.

Fourth fish of the day, once the sun was fully up, the bite slowed down on the wacky worm.

Third fish of the day. My dad also caught his first wacky worm fish before this one.

Second fish of the day, also the biggest of the day. My dad also caught a small one after I caught that first fish, on a salt water curly tail on a jig head! I let my worm fall right beside a lay-down, and I waited for about ten seconds, and when I went to twitch the worm, I felt a fish on so I set the hook, but the fish must’ve taken my worm back into the snag, because he had wrapped around a branch, luckily he was hooked good and I landed him.

First fish of this hot day, even though the water temperature was still very cold! Had tried for about forty minutes before with a chatter bait, with no luck, so I switched to a wacky worm, which I could launch a mile on my new ultra light rod. The water was crystal clear too, I could probably see about ten feet deep where there was grass growing at the bottom.
