Recent Catches At Woodnook Lock Pond

Jonathan Hobson
Very healthy looking river Chub, in Woodnook pond on the Mirfield waters, and a good Bream too on the video (definitely got carried away 😀). Some nice Rudd on the drop also. I didn't have much confidence in the beginning, but they honed in on groundbait really quickly, with the pond not getting fished a lot it seemed. As always, both fish were returned safely very quickly. It's a real shame about the venue, which is now spoilt by the amount of foliage on the pond and in it!, so bring strong line (I used 6lb down to 0.17 hooklength), and believe me if you fish this lake you will be glad you did). You can see the old pegs in one spot or another strewn around showing no one has maintained this lake for a number of years. Alas, not much bait going in for the fish Caught the Chub on triple maggot and the Bream on hooked corn.
