we always take the kids, friends kids fishing for perch at Sandy beach. a couple times we had something Large snap our lines. Decided to hookup our other Rods with 30lb test and moved to middle of the lake about 13ft deep and got many Pike. neon yellow and orange lures worked amazing, around July, August weeds grow in and you can't catch them anymore.
