The Crush City Freeloader just got promoted—from trailer to full-time big bite employee. Fished weightless on a 4/0 hook, it falls flat with a smooth little death shimmy like it’s auditioning for its last swim. Toss in a few twitches, and it straight-up looks like a baitfish that’s made some poor life choices. And the FA forecast? Nailed it! Bite turned on right at peak time.

Not much size this month, but when you’re sweating through your socks before 9:00 a.m., you’ll gladly take whatever decides to bite. At this point, I’m just happy the fish are still willing to leave the A/C.

Probably my last catch of 2025, and easily the best bite of the year. I watched her follow the lure all the way to the bank and smash it about a foot from me. Too fun! Hope everyone has a Happy New Year 👍🎣
