Wonder what happened to the back of this pumpkin seed

Got humbled by Simcoe today. Thought I'd have a chance at some lakers today with the trolling motor and live sonar, but guess not. I'm pretty sure they're a hoax cause I didn't even see 1. I tried all the drop offs I could get to, nearly pushed my battery to it's limits again, and the only things I could find were perch, bait and 1 pike that just nipped the tail of a jig. Should have just gone to a different spot to test out a new glide bait I made.

First bass on bass opener, not the biggest fish but it's a beautiful fish.
