The cat’s in the bag! For the past month, I’ve been trying to catch brown bullhead to no success. Glad to have had the opportunity to strike this species off my checklist on Canada Day! #catchking

The water barely rippled before the hit came—sharp and sudden. I lifted the rod and out came a baby pumpkinseed, glowing like a jewel in the sun. Orange, teal, gold—every scale painted by nature’s finest brush. A quick catch, a quiet marvel. #catchking

A light tap, barely there—then the float vanished. I set the hook and felt a quick flutter on the line. Not much weight, but full of spirit. Up came a baby bluegill, flashing shades of sky and copper, fins flared like a fighter in the ring. Small, fast, fearless. Bluegigi made their mark. One more wild moment by the water. #catchking

Grand finale of the 6 pike session, pretty sure this is the second biggest pike I have caught. Was very happy with this one!
